OK, about this time of year back in 2006 I was starting to panic. Haven’t stopped since, but unfortunately I have become almost catatonic. I have lots of ideas and I know I’m competent, and all that, it’s just that every time I turn around/try something I fail to have success. That can get to you after a while - and it has.
“The Faultline” was created as a marketing tool, I presented it nicely packaged in a dark-blue folder with a ready-made label for the filing cabinet to make it easy to find - etc. It looked really good, and I was proud of it. Still am - otherwise I wouldn’t offer it here and now. I farmed the package to a handpicked group of brokers, actually hand delivering them to their offices after having received permission to do so during an introductory telephone call. Professional attire, approachable attitude, asking permission to greet individual agents - you know, being civil about it…
To get a bit of an idea of the pickle that prompted this, you should read my “POOR ME” entry. In retrospect, there’s no wonder my Faultline campaign didn’t bring in any new business - I was ahead of time in “everybody’s” mind: property values were still being pushed to the max, marketing trends still indicated as “increasing” on the FNMA forms by many (most??) appraisers at that time.

Bear in mind that I was still looking to do lending work at that time… But, alas, NO MORE!
Enjoy the read - and quit nit-picking it, OK? Also, NOTE THE © and respect it.
(BTW, for the non-Italian speakers: “from the coals into the frying pan”)
