We’ve been a bit remiss in capturing feathered visitors to our backyard, lately. We do, however, still delight in them every day, and particularly in the late afternoon when they come in in droves for a late snack at the feeder.
So, here I’m presenting some pictures of birds who have visited in years past - some have been one-time, only, others are still regulars. As I dig through the harddrive I’ll likely find even more, so there may be a second page at some point.
Here goes:
- Noisy very blue Scrubjay
- (immature?) Cooper's Hawk (?) -in for a snack
- Cooper's Hawk (?) -in for a snack
- If it quacks like a duck
- Hooded Oriole?
- Green Heron
- What a wader-he walked the concrete!
- Humming Bird Nest
- Bully Humming Bird Chick in Nest
- Cooper's Hawk (?), again-snack time!
- Hummingbird (Anna's?) likes Lavender
- Greenie hung out with the sparrows in -05
- Very blue Scrubjay-hungry?
- Mallard & Mallice?
- Brown-headed Cowbird
- Brave/Stupid? Dove
The ID’s may be a bit spotty - if you want to correct them, feel free to contact me! Our backyard is in Westminster, California, so they’re not likely to be Eastern species. I had gotten them nailed, I think, but can’t find my list or annotations (it was several years & many organizational permutations ago…).
ENJOY!
